Shakira is celebrating a significant milestone in her career. The performer of “Hips Don’t Lie” took to her social media to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her concert, MTV Unplugged. “Today, 20 years ago, Shak recorded her MTV Unplugged in New York City. For this album, Shakira won a Grammy Award (Best Latin Pop Album) and was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards,” the bilingual text says. In the photo, the singer is almost unrecognizable with her fierce red hair. Many of Shakira’s collaborators and fans celebrated this memorable occasion in the comments. Maluma was one of the 300,000 followers who approved the post. Alejandro Sanz, who collaborated with the singer-songwriter on “La Tortura,” simply wrote, “A beauty.”

Shakira commemorated the twentieth anniversary of her album MTV Unplugged. The artist’s performance was recorded at the Grand Ballroom in the Manhattan Center. This session was Shakira’s first live album and earned her a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. The Colombian singer also received the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. In 2002, the concert was released on DVD.
