This is not the first instance of Watson showing her support for Time’s Up. In February, she generously donated £1 million (around $1.4 million) to the Justice and Equality Fund in the U.K., which fights against sexual harassment, assault, and discrimination.
Taking inspiration from the Time’s Up movement, the fund aims to bring about personal, social, legal, and policy changes to ensure safety for everyone at work, in leisure moments, and at home.
Moreover, Watson made a statement at the 2018 Golden Globes by donning black to signify her solidarity with the movement. She was accompanied at the event by Marai Larasi, the executive director of Imkaan, an organization in the U.K. that works against violence towards minority women.
