In an incredibly cute Instagram video posted by the NBA account, basketball star Klay Thompson has gained a new fan in Stephen Curry’s four-year-old son, Canon. The heartwarming clip shows the little boy expressing his admiration for Thompson after the Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Boston Celtics at the Chase Center in San Francisco. As the group is seen entering the locker room, Canon sweetly turns to the Los Angeles-born Thompson and greets him with a cheerful “Hello, Klay Thompson.”

Thompson, 32, responded to Canon with a chuckle as the onlookers enjoyed the adorable moment. He and Curry, 34, have been teammates for the Golden State Warriors for more than a decade. Just recently, Thompson made history by becoming the 13th player in NBA history to hit over 2000 career three-pointers.

Aside from Canon, Curry also has two daughters, Riley (10) and Ryan (7), with his wife Ayesha Curry. In an interview with E! News at the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards, Curry shared his children’s perspective on his achievements.

When asked if his kids are as impressed with him as others are, Curry, the evening’s honoree, replied, “I’d like to think so, but probably for different reasons. I don’t think they care much about how many shots I make.” He went on to say that although they enjoy celebrating championship victories, what matters the most to them is having a father who is loving and fun to be around.

Curry expressed his joy in watching his children grow and develop their personalities. He mentioned that Riley shows an interest in volleyball, while Ryan is still exploring her options in sports. As for Canon, Curry sees athleticism in him, but he emphasized that the important thing is for his kids to find their own passions and receive his unconditional support.

Curry acknowledged the unwavering support of his family throughout his career, describing them as the driving force behind his success. He expressed gratitude for the space they give him to focus on his craft and the support they provide during both triumphs and failures. While he knows his basketball career will eventually come to an end, he looks forward to sharing his life experiences with his children.
